GOLD PLATED/VERMEIL
Vermeil is Solid Sterling Silver that has been micron plated with 18ct. gold. Micron plating has undergone a process of electrolysis, ensuring it is the most durable form of gold plating. To be considered vermeil, the gold must be at least 2.5 micrometres thick.
GOLD FILLED
A gold filled finish is a layer of pure gold, pressure-bonded to the core metal. Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plated or vermeil, as gold filled items are 5, to 10, times thicker than gold plated styles. Gold filled is both very valuable and tarnish resistant, meaning It does not flake off, rub off or change colour.
DIAMONDS
Louise Carter use small, lab-grown diamonds - always ethically sourced.
PEARLS
Louise Carter only use ethically sourced, genuine freshwater pearls. Being natural, no two pearls are the same and only the best are chosen when crafting our pieces. We never use synthetic pearls.
